Having said that, I was reading the Wikipedia article on azaleas and--as often happens to me, because I'm a curious cat--fell down the rabbit hole of links and ended up at mad honey.
That's right. Mad honey.
It turns out that azaleas have a toxic compound in the leaves and nectar. When the nectar--found in other rhododendrons, too--is collected by bees and made into honey, the honey takes on psychedelic properties.
