Word count for this draft currently stands at 74,274. I'm on page 9 of my 13-page outline. I'm hoping to make a big push this last week of April and finish this thing up.
The sale at Kobo this past weekend went okay, but not as well as I'd hoped. I'm right at the threshold required for Kobo to pay out. It might come down to where the Canadian dollar moves over the next few weeks as to whether I get paid or not. It's also possible that I've made sales that simply haven't shown up on the dashboard yet. Kobo's sales reporting has been sporadic in the past.
My goals for 2018 remain the same: publish book 3 this summer and book 4 before year's end. It'll be close, and I'm starting to fear I won't make it. But we'll see.

Kobo sale!
Caverns of Mercury and Cities of Mars are both 40% off this weekend on Kobo. The promotion is active right now, so if you're a Kobo reader, check it out.

Progress report
I'm still working on book 3, and the end is in sight. Sort of. Well, Jerry's on the planet where the book ends. That's close enough, right? ;)
I've pretty much decided on a title. Not sharing, though. I'll let it be a surprise.
Word count is 66,884. I'm on page 8 of my 13-page outline. But I think I'm nearer to the end than my outline would suggest. We'll see, I guess. My goal remains to finish the first draft before the end of the month.
I'd like to make a new cover for Mr. Wilson. It's the only cover I'm really not satisfied with. The problem is that nothing I do in Photoshop seems to look right. I haven't put much time into this yet, but it's on my radar. It's an elegant story, and it deserves an awesome cover.
That's all for now. Back to splattering guts across bulkheads in zero-g. :D

Thanks, Patty and Jaxon!
I ran two promotions this past weekend. The first one was on Friday. I submitted Clouds of Venus for Jaxon Reed's readper.com blog. Over the weekend, I had about two hundred downloads on Amazon. Results were comparable to a bknights ad. Needless to say, I was pleased.
The other promotion was Patty Jansen's. I put Hostile Planet on sale for 99 cents. I had a number of sales--17 on Amazon alone, and a few elsewhere--and again, was quite pleased.
Neither promotion cost me a penny. :D
So, here's a big thanks to both Patty Jansen and Jaxon Reed for their services. Y'all are awesome.
My next promotion is coming up in less than two weeks. It's for Kobo customers only, though. I'll blog about it when the time comes.

Patty Jansen's promotion: all books are 99 cents
Title says it all, right? Fantasy and science fiction, and each book is 99 cents. My own Hostile Planet is one of the featured titles. Check it out:
Browse around and see what's what. You might find a new author you like. In the meantime, thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting indie authors like me. :)
